BIO
A LIFE OF MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
G.J. has had a varied life and a colourful work history doing “proper jobs”
ever since he left school at 16 music was always as much a part of his life as breathing air,
he has worked in the building trade, street hawker, sold advertising for a newspaper, is a fully qualified electrical engineer and a fully qualified barber, busked on the street, the list goes on and on,
but throughout his life he has by his own admission, performed on the stage of life, he is a born performer first gracing the stage aged 9 in primary school
he has also presented a radio show on Tameside radio 103.6FM called The Blues train.
he draws upon that rich seam of life’s experience to produce both emotive and observational songs and stories that deal with subjects close to the heart and the head
his Debut album titled SONGS ON THE BACK FOOT deal with war, lost love, motorcycles and facebook amongst many varied subject matter,
when challenged on which pidgion hole he belongs in, his reply is always the same “that's not for me to say, its the listener who must interpret my work and decide”
with influences ranging from old school blues to country folk and contemporary music it is safe to say its in that part of the ballpark, using guitar, harmonica, banjo and bouzouki, he produces a varied palette to his performances, with a rich voice and Ernest conviction he delivers a one man show that is hard to forget,
